A Different Kind of Team-Building Day in Surrey

If your team has already tried escape rooms, cooking classes and another day in a conference room, it may be time to take them somewhere completely different.

Real Yard at Minninnooka is a private, fully hosted polo-yard experience in Chobham, Surrey. Designed for corporate teams, incentive groups and private parties of 4–24 people, it gives guests the opportunity to step inside a real working polo yard and discover what happens behind the scenes.

No previous riding or polo experience is required.

Try polo, experience days, yard days, team building, surrey, away days, something different

More than simply trying polo

Polo depends on communication, preparation, confidence and teamwork long before anyone rides onto the field. Real Yard brings those elements together in a practical experience where every guest can take part.

Depending on the chosen programme, the day can include:

  • Meeting and grooming the polo ponies

  • Learning about the equipment used by horse and rider

  • Working together in a tack-up team challenge

  • Learning the basic polo swings

  • Riding and trying stick-and-ball

  • Friendly team challenges

  • An optional private Argentine asado

The programme can be adapted for different ages, abilities and confidence levels. Guests who feel less confident around horses can still play a valuable role in the team activities, while more adventurous participants can enjoy the riding and polo elements.

Why horses create a memorable team experience

Working around horses takes people out of their normal roles. Job titles become less important, unfamiliar tasks encourage better communication and team members quickly discover different strengths in one another.

The experience is active and engaging without relying on athletic ability. It naturally encourages colleagues to listen, solve problems together, support one another and remain calm when faced with something new.

Most importantly, it feels like a genuine day out rather than a conventional training exercise.

Suitable for small and medium-sized teams

Real Polo Yard is particularly well suited to groups of 4–24 people. This allows the experience to remain personal, with meaningful involvement for every guest.

It can be used for:

  • Corporate away days

  • Team-building activities

  • Leadership and communication days

  • Staff rewards

  • Client entertainment

  • Incentive programmes

  • Company celebrations

  • Private groups of friends and family

Half-day and full-day formats are available, allowing companies and event organisers to build the experience around their schedule and objectives.
