3 min read

Your morning could look like this: meeting the horses, grooming and tacking up, enjoying a coached ride, then sitting down with other women for tea and cake.

At Minninnooka Polo & Riding School in Chobham, our ladies riding mornings in Surrey bring together practical horse care, polo riding tuition and time to socialise.

Our Ladies Morning gives you something to look forward to—and a chance to enjoy the whole experience, from preparing your horse to chatting after your ride.

Horse Riding for Women: What Does the Morning Include?

The session lasts 90 minutes and combines time around the horses with a coached polo riding session, followed by tea and cake.

Meet and Groom the Horses

We begin with the horses. Grooming is an opportunity to get comfortable around them, learn about their care and prepare for the ride.

For someone returning after a break, this time on the ground can be particularly useful. You can ask questions, become familiar with your horse and settle into the yard before getting into the saddle.

Learn to Tack Up

Preparing a horse is part of becoming a more capable rider. During the morning, you can learn or refresh the practical skills involved in tacking up, with guidance along the way.

Understanding the equipment and preparation helps connect what happens before a lesson with what you feel during your ride.

Enjoy a Coached Polo Riding Session

Our polo riding lessons give you a chance to develop your riding with coaching and a purpose.

Depending on your experience, that may mean working on balance, position, control or the riding skills used in polo. Tell us about your background and confidence when enquiring so we can advise on the right starting point.

Finish With Tea and Cake

After the ride, there is time to relax together, talk about the session and enjoy tea and cake.

That social time is part of the morning. It gives you space to get to know other riders and enjoy being part of the Minninnooka community.

Returning to Horse Riding After a Break?

Many adults have fond memories of riding but have spent years away from horses while work, family and other commitments took priority.

Returning to horse riding can feel exciting and a little daunting. You may remember what you used to do while feeling less certain about what you can comfortably manage now.

Let us know when you last rode, what you enjoyed and anything you feel unsure about. We can discuss whether Ladies Morning is suitable or whether an introductory lesson would help you get started.

You do not need previous polo experience to enquire. If you are completely new to riding, contact Kirstie first so we can recommend an appropriate first session.

Adult Riding Lessons in Surrey With a Social Side

If you are looking for adult riding lessons in Surrey, Ladies Morning offers a way to combine learning with company.

The morning gives you opportunities to practise horse care, receive coaching and enjoy time with other women who share an interest in horses. You might attend with a friend or enquire on your own.

Learning also gives your morning a focus. You could be working towards feeling more comfortable around horses, improving your position or understanding how your riding connects to polo.

For riders who want to continue developing, we can discuss further lessons and suitable next steps.
